Qualification & Experience

  1. Master’s / PhD in Chemical Engineering
  2. 22–28+ years of experience across product development, technology governance, stage-gate management, quality systems, and lifecycle management in chemicals, energy, materials, or complex engineered products.
  3. Demonstrated experience in establishing and governing product lifecycle frameworks—from ideation to scale-up, deployment, and retirement.
  4. Strong exposure to design controls, risk management, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and audit readiness.
  5. Experience working in matrixed R&D, manufacturing and commercial environments.
  6. Proven ability to institutionalize standardized processes, decision rights, and governance forums at enterprise scale.

Accountability:

  1. Develop strategic roadmap aligned to vision and growth priorities to ensure top decile / quartile positioning.
  2. Validate 5-3-1-year technology plans for differentiated and sustainable long-term edge to Divisions.
  3. Act as the single technical interface between Central CTS and each division.
  4. Review and ensure adherence to RIL standards and governance across Divisions.
  5. Translate division business needs into deployable technical problems for expert groups.
  6. Ensure fit-for-purpose application of central solutions to division contexts.
  7. Support futuristic technology roadmaps for products/processes.

Skills:

  1. Ability to translate complex technical programs into clear governance signals and leadership decisions.
  2. Experience leveraging digital tools, analytics, and AI to improve predictability, compliance, and execution rigor.
  3. Strong leadership in cross-functional alignment, influence without authority, and enterprise change management.
