Qualification & Experience

1. Master’s / PhD in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields.
2. 25+ years of experience in polyester, polymers, chemicals, fibres, or allied R&D organizations.
3. Proven expertise in product and process development, polymer chemistry, catalyst systems, and scale-up.
4. Strong understanding of customer-backwards development, sustainability-led innovation, and value-chain performance.
5. Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and translating bench/pilot research into commercial-scale outcomes.

Accountability:

1. Lead 1–5-year polyester R&D initiatives aligned with business priorities.
2. Drive customer-backwards product, process, and catalyst development for performance and market relevance.
3. Deliver process innovations to improve cost competitiveness, margin protection, and sustainability.
4. Develop next-generation polyester products and grades with enhanced performance and environmental credentials.
5. Evaluate, develop, and recommend new catalysts, chemicals, and formulations.
6. Conduct and oversee bench-scale and pilot-scale studies up to TRL 6.
7. Enable continuous, incremental innovation to strengthen business competitiveness.

Skills:

1. Deep expertise in polyester chemistry, polymer science, product development, and process engineering.
2. Strong capability in catalyst development, reaction engineering, and polymerization technologies.
3. Demonstrated ability to lead TRL 1–6 research, scale-up, and pilot operations.
4. Strong customer-backwards mindset, market understanding, and commercial alignment.
5. Excellent cross-functional leadership, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
