Make AI Work for Your Job Search, Not Against It
Uncategorized
AI is reshaping recruitment and hiring—and with 83% of companies reporting they’re using AI tools for resume screening, it’s here to stay. If you’re job hunting, you can’t afford to ignore it. Here’s how to prepare for an AI-based hiring process. First, rethink your resume narrative. These days, employers value what AI can’t replicate. Identify your AI-proof skills—for example, relationship-building, strategic thinking, and decision-making—and highlight them. Next, optimize your application for AI screening. Most companies use applicant tracking systems that scan for job description keywords. If your resume doesn’t incorporate nearly all the keywords from the job description, it may never be seen. Use AI tools wisely. AI-generated cover letters and personal statements often sound generic. Companies are catching on, and some deprioritize obviously AI-written applications. Take pride in your own voice. Write an initial draft and use AI to refine it. You might also consider having an AI tool compare your resume with a job description and suggest missing keywords, then integrate them naturally. |
